Family Guy: Not Suitable for Children

Family Guy is one of my favorite television shows because of how funny it is. There are so many jokes in there that if you understand the references to real life you'll laugh your head off. Things such as jokes about the president, or jokes about teenagers, are abundant in the episodes of Family Guy. These jokes are put there because it makes people laugh about their own life, and will never end due to the amount of material generated by actual reality.

Family Guy is however not for the younger audience. There is a plethora of innuendo that will make parents shudder. Why would I let my child watch this is the question some parents might ask. The truth in my opinion is that they should not. It is best for them to avoid such shows. That being said there is no reason for adults not to watch. When the kids are off in bed is the time that I think to be the best to watch Family Guy.

The characters in the show are also well thought up. Peter is the main character and is a fat and clueless hard working father. I find this to be a wonderful main character because it is out of the norm to have a main character of this kind. Most main characters are well built and brawny, unlike peter. Lois is peter's wife who is a thin woman that cleans up all of peters messes. The one question is how did peter get Lois, a rich girl, when he's so clueless. I find this to be a funny aspect of the show because of how the two interact, it's total yin and yang.

Peters children also add some drama to the show. Cris is the fat teddy bear of the family, Meg is the unwanted person in the family and Stewie is the baby. Now I find it a little hard to watch when the family is terrible to Meg but the way she and Chris interact is amazing. This usually begins a side story that ends in one large joke. Stewie usually is another side story with the dog Brian. The one thing I find difficult to watch is that the family can't hear Stewie, yet the dog can. Also the family can here the dog. I mean how did that happen? No other dog in the show talks.

When you look at it, Family guy is a very nice show as long as it stays away from my kids.
